This description comes from the GNU site :
The word 'free' has two legitimate general meanings; it can refer either to freedom or to price.
When we speak of 'free software', we're talking about freedom, not price. (Think of 'free speech', not 'free beer'.) Specifically, it means that a user is free to run the program,
change the program, and redistribute the program with or without changes.
Our Open Source software is free for you to download and use. Free for you to install, compile, utilise under the GNU GPL v3 licence. You may use the recipe and enhance it provided that you acknowledge your debt to the previous creator and allow others to benefit from your work (provided they too provide acknowledgement and and offer their work to the common good).
SupportAlthough the software is free, if you require support then this is chargeable. We offer ad-hoc support via email, via Virtual Site Support using Linux tools ssh and X2Go. Bespoke support and annual support contracts are also available.
